Terms of website use

Please read these terms of use carefully before you start to use this site. By using the site, you indicate your acceptance of these terms of use andagree to abide by them. If you do not agree to these terms of use, please refrain from using the site. 

Intellectual property rights

Flux Jewellery Ltd. is the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights on this site, and the material published on it.  Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world.  All such rights are reserved.

Payment

Online payments are made via Stripe and all major credit cards are accepted.   Purchased items will be dispatched once payment has been confirmed as valid and lawful and made in full.  All prices quoted are (£) Sterling.

Delivery

Please bear in mind that most of our items are handmade to order.  We aim to make and dispatch all orders within 10 - 14 days.  If for any reason, I know am unable to dispatch your item to you within that time we will notify you immediately.  Should you require an item more quickly, please contact me and I will do my best to achieve an earlier delivery .

UK Delivery  Standard Delivery is via Royal Mail.  Standard delivery Royal Mail First Class Signed For, non jewellery items only, which usually takes 2 - 3 days to arrive.  All jewellery is sent by Special Delivery Signed and Tracked.  If you need your item to arrive quickly, please choose Royal Mail's tracked & insured Special Delivery service at the checkout. 

International Delivery - please contact Flux if you require delivery to a country not listed for delivery costs and details. 

All orders are sent using delivery services requiring a signature upon receipt.

Any links from this website to other sites and resources provided by third parties, are provided for your information only.  Flux Jewellery Ltd.has no control over the contents of those sites or resources, and as such, accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them. 

Jurisdiction and applicable law

The English courts have jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to, or goods purchased from  this website. 

 

Course Booking Terms & Conditions

Payments:  A non-refundable deposit of 25% is payable upon booking to reserve your place.  Any outstanding balance is due no later than 10 days prior to the course start date. Failure to pay the outstanding amount within this time scale will result in losing your booking and forfeiture of deposit. 

On final payment you will be sent all the course information and joining instructions.

Payments can be made, online, in person or by phone. No additional fee will be applied if using a credit card.

Bristol School of Jewellery is owned and operated by Flux, so your payment may show on your card statement as being paid to Flux Jewellery Ltd. 

Materials are not included in the cost of the course, unless otherwise stated.

 

It is your responsibility to ensure you have booked onto  a course suitable for your ability and fully understand what is involved including any additional costs you may need to pay (e.g. for materials).

When purchasing a course as a gift, using a gift voucher, the recipient needs to contact us for available course dates. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. 

Prices:  All prices are quoted per person, in UK £ sterling

Refunds and cancellations:  Our jewellery-making classes are in demand and places are limited.  Cancellations made within four weeks of the course start date are not eligible for refunds. However, where possible we will offer an alternative course and transfer your fees less the non-refundable deposit.


Occasionally we may need to cancel a course at short notice.  Should this happen we will offer you alternative dates.  If these dates are not suitable we will refund your deposit/course payment in full.

Please read and take note of our cancellation policy for full details of refunds and transfers.

Attendance:  You will gain most from your course if you arrive promptly and attend every session.  Please phone (07784628899) to let us know if you can't attend any session or are going to be late.  In some cases, missing part of a course may make it difficult to take part in later ones.  If you are booked on a course and you do not turn up on the day, no refund will be given.  

Health and Safety in the workshop: We take your safety very seriously and there are some rules which we apply to ensure a safe learning environment for all students.  These will be explained to you at the start of the course/class.  Please ensure that you read and understand the information you will be given.  Students who do not comply with our health and safety rules will be excluded from the workshop with no refund.

Respiratory diseases:  If you suffer from a respiratory disorder, you may need to wear a nose/mouth mask or respirator during some tasks, especially those that create dust.  Please contact us before booking if this affects you. 

Minimum age:  Most courses are for persons over the age of 18.  By booking a place on the workshop, you confirm that you and all attendees you have booked for are aged 18 or over at the date of the workshop.   

Any courses for young people under the age of 18 will be separately organised and clearly advertised as such.   

Acceptance: Please note that by booking a place on a course, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions, which are emailed or given to all students at the time of booking.

Please note that terms and conditions may be subject to change without notice.  It is your responsibility to check for changes to the terms and conditions each time you book or attend a class.

Cancellations 

Our jewellery-making classes are in demand and places are limited. Cancellations made within four weeks of the course start date are not eligible for refunds. However, where possible we will offer an alternative course and transfer your fees less the non-refundable deposit.  If you need to cancel please give as much notice as possible. 

If we can fill your space we will offer you a refund, minus any non-refundable deposit you paid. If we can't find someone to take your place we regret we cannot provide a refund. 

In the event that you are booked on any session, workshop or course and do not arrive on the day for any reason, no refund will be given. 

Please note, when you reserve your place on a class by paying a deposit, the deposit you paid is non-refundable. 

 

Wedding Rings/Bespoke Courses – We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the day of your choice. Payment in full is required four weeks before your session date. Cancellation within four weeks of the scheduled date will result in forfeiture of all fees.  If you have paid for the metal for your rings and we have already bought it to secure its price, we will send you the metal. No cash refund will be given for metal if we have already purchased it. If you have given us the money for the metal but we haven't purchased it, a full refund will be given for the metal price quoted.

 

Please read the class descriptions carefully as misunderstandings cannot be used as a reason for a refund. It is your responsibility to ensure you book on a relevant class and fully understand what is involved, additional costs you will have to pay and our terms and conditions. 

 

Transfers - If you want to transfer to another class in the same block that you have booked to attend, please give us as much notice as you can and we will do our best to accommodate you.  If this is not possible the standard cancellation policy applies.

Occasionally we may have to cancel a course. You will always be offered an alternative date or a refund. We will give you as much notice as possible, however, we cannot be held responsible for any other costs you might have already incurred eg travel costs.

We reserve the right to exclude any student we feel may be a danger to themselves or other students.  If you turn up and we consider you to be incapable of working safely due to alcohol, drugs or ill-health you will be excluded from the class and no refund will be given. 

By booking a course you are agreeing to both our cancellation terms and general terms and conditions.

 

Class Levels

Beginners – suitable for total beginners with no previous experience.

Progression – suitable for those who have some previous silver working experience, including soldering and metal forming.  As a minimum a beginners’ course will have had to be completed prior to starting an progression course.

Advanced – All advanced classes are for students who have lots of experience and are competent at all key skills but want to gain more workshop experience or learn a new technique.

Mixed Ability – Classes with a mix of beginners and more advanced with all levels being catered for.

All – These are suitable for any level of student.
