Jean White

Jean is an award winning ceramicist who uses her previous skills as a professional illustrator to carve and model her drawing into clay. From these carvings she creates plaster moulds and slip casts each piece in either porcelain or parian clay.

Jean's work raises awareness of the conservation status of red-list British bird species, species which are threatened whilst making reference to the traditional processes employed in Wedgwood’s Jasperware, combining sprigged work with clean contemporary shapes.
