Collection: Niamh Collins

Bristol-based artist Niamh Collins explores the experience of landscape through colourful abstract painting. Inspired by wilderness and coastal places, from Cornwall to the Caribbean, her work moves between observed landscapes, memory and imagination.

Working on canvas and paper, Niamh combines a variety of painting techniques with experimental monoprinting using clingfilm and found objects, creating distinctive marks and layered surfaces.

Born in Dublin, she graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1981 and has since exhibited widely in the UK and abroad, with work held in private and public collections. Her career has included teaching and artist residencies, including three months at the historic Porthmeor Studios in St Ives in 2019. In 2023, she won the London Group Open Exhibition Prize at the Copeland Gallery, London.
