This vessel by Sinéad O'Connor of Cruan is one of the most ambitious works in the collection. Formed from a large handspun copper base, the exterior is entirely covered in layers of white enamel, fired repeatedly at high temperature until the copper's natural oxides break through the glass — producing the extraordinary cascade of teals, blues, deep greens and warm rose that sweep down the surface like a landscape seen from above.

The interior is left as raw, burnished copper — warm, glowing, and deeply tactile against the dramatic exterior. The rim is irregular and hand-worked, each peak and valley shaped by Sinéad before firing. No two moments on this surface are the same.

The copper form is handspun in Sheffield by master craftsman Warren Martin. This is a singular, collector-level work — as much sculpture as vessel.
