Introduction to Fold Forming and Scoring Metal Workshop

Held in our purpose-built silversmithing studio in Bristol, this course introduces you to the fascinating technique of fold forming — a process that uses folding, hammering and scoring to transform flat sheet metal into dynamic, three-dimensional forms, all without the use of soldering.

Over two creative days, you’ll explore mark making, texture and movement in metal, learning how controlled folds and carefully placed scores can create sculptural shapes and intricate surface detail. It’s a wonderfully direct and experimental approach to metalwork, full of surprising results.

Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience, this workshop offers a relaxed and supportive environment in which to build confidence and develop new skills.

The course fee includes a student kit of metals to work with, so you’ll have everything you need to experiment and create throughout the weekend.
