About the maker:
Mitch Pilkington is a renowned ceramicist based in North Devon. Initially making in her shed and on the kitchen table, she has now successfully exhibited at various ceramic fairs including the CPA’s Oxford Ceramic Fair in 2019.
Since applying to and being accepted into the Crafts Council in 2019, Mitch was then invited to be part of 'One Year In' at New Designers as well as Rising Stars at The New Ashgate Gallery and was awarded Rising Star of 2019. Not only that but she has also been listed in Ceramic Review as 'One to watch' and led to her being selected for Ceramic Art London. She is now a proud member of Craft Potters Association and Contemporary Applied Arts.
Mitch's vessels are inspired by organic and natural forms, especially worn shells collected by her on beach walks. She works in stoneware and porcelain clay, using slips to enhance the natural texture of clay.
