About the maker:
Sophisticated. Textural. Stylish. Coastal. Yes we might be describing you as well, but we're talking about Rosa Wiland Holmes outstanding porcelain vessels.
Winner of The Great Pottery Throwdown 2020, Rosa was born in Copenhagen and lived on the beautiful island of Bornholm with her sister, mother and sculptor father from the age of 10. Bornholm being in the Baltic Sea was where Rosa started her fascinated with the natural; sea foam on the sand, rain glistening on granite or the cracked and crazed bed of a dried up summer stream.
She trained as a fashion designer but discovered ceramics six years ago and has been obsessed by its possibilities ever since. The interaction of clay, oxides and glaze fascinates her and she has used every spare moment to explore this. "Nature is extraordinary and seek to capture its beauty in my work".
Rosa creates unique works of art which draw you in to explore shapes, texture and colours.
What we love is how you can feel and experience that Baltic landscape in her work. Each piece is a mini beach all on its own.
