Colour Studies -Emily Ketteringham

  • FLUX fluxbristol@gmail.com Bristol UK (map)

We’re delighted to be exhibiting the latest one-off and very limited edition screenprints by Emily Ketteringham.

Emily is a screenprinter and maker living and working in Bristol. She has a studio at Centrespace in the heart of the Old City.

Emily’s work is about layering and precision, it is often inspired by geology and rocks. The overarching theme that unites all her work is her love and exploration of colour.

Working with very translucent inks, Emily enjoys exploring the space between control and chance – mixing very precise colours, but then embracing the new colours that are created when the inks overlap on the paper.

Her recent work has been about trying to build/consolidate memories of place by investigating and experimenting with colours found within photographs taken whilst walking.

In May last year Emily travelled to Northumberland for a residency where she worked with Unison Colour Pastels.  These prints are created with inks made from crushed pastels collected during the residency, and are inspired by the colours of the surrounding landscape.

Visit our gallery space to immerse yourself and experience these beautifully contemplative screenprints while they’re here.
