Niamh was offered the chance to work for three months at the historic Porthmeor Studios in St Ives. Feeling it was the ideal opportunity for her work to evolve, she embraced the opportunity with no expectations, allowing herself to be inspired by St Ives. 

All the paintings are full of the nature of Cornwall, the movement of water in all it’s forms, the mark it makes upon the Cornish landscape and inspiration from the human activity of St Ives from fishing to tourism.

Being away from her usual environment inspired her & she was able to experiment, her work becoming looser and allowing her to feel less constricted.
