Alexei Sawyer creates one-of-a-kind sculptural vessels and bowls from ethically sourced local wood. Hand-turned and guided by the philosophy of wabi-sabi, each piece embraces the timber’s natural character, from knots and spalting to cracks and warping.

Working exclusively with locally sourced, never-imported timber, Alexei uses natural, non-toxic finishes without petrochemical resins or plastics. His practice is rooted in a love of trees, sustainability and respect for materials.
