Papermetal is the work of Julie Bailey, a Yorkshire-based studio jeweller working from her garden studio in Thirsk. Her contemporary jewellery is shaped by a close relationship with materials and process, influenced by a background in printmaking. Softened geometric forms in silver are embossed with delicate hand-cut paper petal textures, sometimes contrasted with brass, bronze and copper for a quietly minimal effect. Julie was twice highly commended in the National Platinum Awards and is a selected maker in the Crafts Council Directory.
